Call for nominations to serve on the board of AGS
The AGS is delighted to call for nominations to be part of the AGS Executive Board. Consistent with our updated by-laws, the following Board roles will be open for electronic (online) election in the lead up to the next annual general meeting (Oct 3, 2026):
- Vice-president (3-year term)
- Secretary (3-year term)
To this end, we call for nominations from the AGS community and encourage all our members regardless of career stage, gender, glycoscience research area and institutional affiliation to nominate to help define and impact the direction of our society.
All nominations (self- nominations or by fellow AGS-members) must be received through our AGS members web-portal by CoB, Friday 21th of August, 2026 (no extensions). Please note that key nominee details including brief bio and vision for the AGS will be requested through the nomination process.
Electronic voting for all board roles will take place in September 2026. During the voting period, all current AGS members will be able to submit their votes of nominees through an online portal. More details to follow.
Outcomes of the election will be announced at the society’s hybrid-type AGM (2:30pm on Monday, October 5 (AEST) held at joint 7th AGS and 15th ACCG meeting, Tsukuba, 3rd – 6th of October, 2026.
Election outcomes will take effect immediately after the AGM.
