6th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium (6th AGS) – AUS-oMicS
Cairns, Queensland (May 18-21, 2025)
To broaden our reach and strengthen our connections to like-minded national societies, the 6th AGS will be organised as a joint meeting with the Australian Proteomics Society (APS) and the Australian and New Zealand Society for Mass Spectrometry (ANZSMS). The joint meeting, called ‘AUS-oMicS‘, has been scheduled for 18-21 May, 2025, Cairns, QLD, and will be a valuable opportunity for AGS members to reach a wider audience and expand their networks into neighbouring societies.

5th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium (5th AGS)
Wellington, New Zealand (Aug 27-30, 2024)
Chaired by Dr Alison Daines and Prof Richard Furneaux, the 5th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium took place 27-30 Aug 2024 in Te Whanganui a Tara | Wellington, New Zealand.
With the theme “Chemistry meets Biology”, the symposium aims to look at this exciting interface between the disciplines of glycochemistry and glycobiology – bringing together researchers from various areas of Glycoscience to encourage and strengthen collaborations, pushing research forward for all.


4th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium (4th AGS)

Chaired by A/Prof Daniel Kolarich and Dr Nick Scott, the 4th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium took place 22-25 Nov 2022 and was organised as a joint international conference with the 9th Charles Warren Workshop. on the Gold Coast, QLD.

The 3rd Australasian Glycoscience Symposium (3rd AGS) held over two full days as an online event. The theme of the 3rd AGS is “Bridging the Glycobiology and Glycochemistry to Glycoproteomics/Glycomics and then Glycoinformatics” and the meeting will host a fantastic line-up of international speakers (see below “special speakers” and “confirmed speakers”) and showcase talent in the region by covering a variety of Glycoscientific topics in including:

In collaboration with the Canadian glycoscience community, the Canadian GlycoNET and AGS is excited to announce travel support for up to 3 AGS members to attend the upcoming 7th Canadian Glycomics Symposium which will be jointly held with the 10th Warren Workshop.
Venue/dates: JW Marriott, ICE District, Edmonton, AB, Canada. May 27 – May 29, 2024
Eligibility: Current 2024 AGS members are eligible for support regardless of career stage. Please note, only the first 3 AGS members will be supported by this scheme.
Support: Up to three travel bursaries ($1,000) will be offered to support attendance at this meeting.
Please register before March 4th, 2024 through the conference web-portal and provide proof of registration to us to confirm the award of the travel bursary. AGS members receiving support must acknowledge the support from the AGS and GlycoNET in their talk/posters (and in social media where possible).

29th Annual Lorne Proteomics Symposium

AGS is hosting the Glyco@Lorne session featuring a keynote lecture and a number of talks selected from the abstracts submitted directly to the Lorne Proteomics conference. Selection will of talks will be based on their alignment with the conference, their novelty and relevance.
All AGS members are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts and attend the Lorne Proteomics Symposium. It will be a great opportunity to further boost the strong ties between the APS and AGS.
In case they are an active AGS member in 2024, the presenting authors of the abstracts selected for an oral presentation within the Glyco@Lorne session will be awarded $160- support towards their registration costs from the AGS. This will be re-imbursed after the conference.
